We follow Jayce as he’s manipulated into mass-producing Hextech by councilwoman Mel Medarda and Caitlyn as she’s trying to prove Silco’s connection to crimes in Piltover, something we already know is the case. That’s why it comes off as odd to see so much of Act 2 dedication to what was originally the B-plot. While this storyline includes Champions like Jayce, Viktor, and Caitlyn, it mainly serves as a connection to lore relevant to Vi and Jinx’s story. Riot Gamesīut Act 1 also had a subplot about the creation of Hextech, a magical technology that powers the weapons and tech used by many of the League of Legends champions. She often feels stuck in a world warped through her own anxieties.Arcane is at its best when it's about Vi and Jinx. Jinx is heavily implied to suffer from schizophrenia, a mental illness.Her personality is heavily influenced by her childhood trauma. She is also shown to have abandonment issues after Vi "left" her, after the death of her family. Despite her loud, crazy persona, she is shown to be struggling mentally and shows an incredible amount guilt for accidentally killing her family. Despite this havoc nature, she is quite smart and is shone to have improved on her bomb making skills. She is loud and ecstatic and often torments others and shows no remorse for hurting or killing others. Jinx is an ecstatic young adult (assumed) who enjoys reeking chaos wherever she went and blowing things up. She also showed how skilled she was with a gun, often beating her best friend, Ekko, when the two of them played togetherĪfter enduring the death of her family and her sister's abandonment, Powder adopted the identity of Jinx. She was also quite creative and enjoyed making different kinds of inventions, mostly bombs though they usually failed to work. She greatly admired her older sister Vi, and saw her as a role model. This sparked irritation from her older brother Milo who referred to her as a jinx. Her color pallet consists of pink and blue, perhaps an indication of her identity crisis, and whether she is Jinx or Powder.Īs a little girl, Powder was shy and sweet, but was incredibly clumsy and prone to making mistakes. As a teenager, Jinx wore her hair in two long braids and her eyes became pink after being injected shimmer. AppearanceĪs a child, Jinx had pale skin, blue eyes and blue hair that she wore in a small braid. Silco initially wanted to attack Powder, but ended up adopting her. Vi angrily called her a "jinx" and left her there sobbing. However, Powder's interest in inventing bombs took a dark turn when she accidentally killed Vander with some of the bombs she'd made. Back at The Last Drop, the group is reprimanded by Vander for the trouble they caused in Piltover while Vi agued back, claiming that Piltover had plenty while they had nothing. Later Milo yells at Powder for losing the stolen goods and claims "she jinxes every job," though Vi silences him.
Left with no other option, she throws the goods into the ocean and the gang member returns to the fight, leaving Powder alone. Unfortunately, Powder is hunted down by one of the gang members who notices the stolen supplies and she is tracked to the docks, where she try's to attack him with on of her bombs, though it sputters out and fails. Not willing to go down without a fight, Vi, Claggor and Mylo, took on the gang leaving the goods with Powder. After the kids had evaded the group, they made their way back to Zaun with their stolen goods, though the group was stopped by a street gang who demanded they hand the bag over. However the kids were soon discovered and were forced to leave the apartment, swiftly, causing Powder to drop one of the blue orbs and set of an explosion which blew up half the building, notifying the enforcers and sending the kids on a chase through Piltover.

After finding the apartment, the kids began to loot the place and Powder discovered a box full of blue orbs. Ī few years later Vi, Powder, Claggor and Mylo ventured into Pilttover after getting a tip from Ekko regarding an Piltoven who he had followed after the man had shopped at Benzo's. That same day they were adopted by Vander, who took them in and raised them along side Mylo and Claggor. However, when her parents died during a battle on the bridge between Piltover and Zaun, her and Vi were the only people left in their family. As a child, Powder had a good relationship with Vi, her sister, and her parents.
